Counting in Kindergarten
Counting is the very first step in math. In kindergarten, children learn to say numbers in order, recognise how they are written, and understand that each number is one more than the last. These worksheets show a short run of numbers with the last one missing, so your child practises “what comes next?” — the foundation for everything that follows.
3, 4, 5, ___
- Say the numbers out loud: three, four, five…
- What comes next? After five comes six.
- Answer: 6.
How to use these worksheets
- Start on Easy (to 10) and count out loud together.
- Point to each number as you say it — matching the sound to the symbol.
- Keep the answer key (page 2) to check quickly.
- Tick Show answers to turn a sheet into a gentle example.
