Times tables in Grade 3
Fluent multiplication is the headline goal of third grade. By year end, students are expected to know all facts to 12 quickly and to understand fact families — how each multiplication fact pairs with two division facts. Solid tables make fractions, division and multi-digit multiplication far easier later.
7 × 8 = ?
- Use a known fact: 7 × 8 is the trickiest for many — try 7 × 4 = 28, then double it.
- Double 28: 28 + 28 = 56.
- Answer: 56 (and the fact family gives 56 ÷ 7 = 8).
How to use these worksheets
- Master one table at a time on Easy, then mix them on Hard.
- Point out the fact family: 6 × 7 = 42, so 42 ÷ 7 = 6.
- Keep the answer key (page 2) for instant marking.
- Tick Show answers to turn a sheet into a study guide.
